iPod-Island Hub
Germany, 2007 stainless steel, HiFi hardware 46.5 w x 5.5 d x 36.75 h inches
In contrast with the popular trend toward minimalist high-tech gadgets, a feature exemplified by Apple's Nano, this iPod-Island Hub is spacially demanding. The face of the hub features the quote, "The music was new black polished chrome and it came over the summer like liquid night," from Turkish Bazaar, a song by Emmanuel Tops, that loops on the accompanying iPod. This one-off piece includes one Apple iPod Nano and a JBL sound station with remote control. Sold with certificate of origin signed by Ingo Strobel and hand-written handling instructions. Signed, titled and dated: [Strobel Ipod-Island "Hub", prototype, Berlin, May 2007].
Estimate: $3,000–5,000
